London, 30 March 2021:
Libya’s Ministry of Transport has increased fees payable at its ports by 235 percent as of yesterday. The large increase reflects the devaluation in January of the Libyan dinar from LD 1.40 to 4.48 per US dollar. The increase of fees is effective immediately.
The fee increase had been ordered by the outgoing Faiez Serraj government by virtue of decree 282/2021 but had never been implemented until Monday.
