Sahary Bank and Expertise France discuss establishing SME financing units

London, 24 December 2020:

Libya’s Sahary bank and Expertise France discussed the establishment of an SME financing Unit last week in Tunis (18 December,), Expertise France reported.

Expertise France said the meeting comes within the framework of supporting Libyan banks to establish a unit specialized in serving small and medium-sized enterprises to improve access to finance and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs to develop their companies.

During the meeting, steps for establishing that unit and designing its structure and responsibilities were discussed, it explained.

The meeting comes within the wider activities of the #EU4PSL project funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France to support the private sector in Libya.

Expertise France had reported on 27 October that Jumhouria Bank and the Arab Commercial Bank had also recently approved the establishment of SME units to serve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
