London, 29 October 2020:
One tugboat was sank and another damaged at Misrata Free Zone port as a result of Tuesday’s strong storm that hit north-western Libya.
The Free Zone reported that the tugboat sank after a large vessel squeezed it onto the dock, but that the other affected tugboats were rescued. Nevertheless, it said the port remained operational and that efforts were at hand to rescue the sank tugboat to prevent and possible environmental damage.
The storm had also caused damage at Tripoli port.
