London, 3 October 2020:
The Algerian government has sent a team of SONELGAZ electricity engineers to help alleviate Libya’s acute electricity problem, GECOL reported.
The team arrived yesterday at Khoms power station to evaluate the station’s status and completion rate in preparation for operating the two emergency project generating units.
The two units have a capacity of 500 MW which GECOL said would reduce the electricity crisis in Tripoli and across the Libyan network.
Libya has been suffering an acute electricity generation crisis with frequent blackouts.
