London, 25 September 2019:
The Asahem (Essahim) Public Transport Company announced yesterday that it is launching its express airport shuttle service from central Tripoli to Misrata Airport and back.
The buses, painted yellow, are part of the batch of buses ordered from China which arrived in August as part of a larger order for public transport buses.
The company said the service will initially run once a day from Tripoli (departing from in front of the disused Al-Kabir/Grand Hotel) to Misrata Airport.
Bookings and further details can be conducted through Five Continents Tourism Services in Hay Al-Andalus, Al Burj Street (mobiles 0924834497 or 091893866).
A one-way ticket is priced at LD 35 dinars to be paid in cash until the debit card payment system is installed.
The arrival of the new fleet of buses from China comes at a timely moment as Tripoli’s only civilian airport, Mitiga, is closed after it was the subject of numerous air strikes widely attributed by the Tripoli authorities to the Khalifa Hafter forces. All Mitiga’s flights have been transferred to Misrata airport since 1 September, a two-and-a-half hour drive east of Tripoli.
