Tripoli, 5 December 2017:
The offices of Sirte’s association for the blind have been robbed.
Among items stolen were power cables and computer equipment. It is unclear when the break-in happened or the value of the goods stolen.
The building is near the town’s Social Security offices. Both were damaged in last year’s fighting to drive out terrorists of the so-called Islamic State and had since undergone some repairs.
Up to 2014 the local blind association had registered some 500 blind or partially-blind individuals in and around Sirte.
