By Libya Herald reporters.

Tripoli, 29 August 2017:

The latest murder in Tripoli was of a young man whose body was found beneath a pedestrian overpass in the Ghat district of Suq Al-Juma.

Security sources said that the victim, who has not yet been identified, had been hanged or otherwise strangled.  His body displayed extensive signs of beating.

The discovery of this corpse comes hours after the new UNSMIL chief Ghassan Salamé told the UN Security Council that he believed that criminality had decreased significantly in many parts of the country, including the capital.
