Tunis, 29 July 2017:
House of Representatives (HoR) spokesman Abdullah Blaihak has been forced to deny rumours that parliament president Ageela Saleh is to take an extended leave of absence.
Blaihak said such reports circulating in several news sites and social media pages were unfounded. He admitted that Saleh was taking a few days off for a holiday, but nothing more.
It is expected the HoR president will be back at its Tobruk headquarters next week.
Blahak also said that the deputy speaker of the HoR would exercise the powers of president in the absence of Saleh. He was referring to Ahmaid Huma. He will chair Monday’s HoR session.
