Tunis, 20 July 2017:
The exam results of 30 Tripoli students have been annulled after they were caught cheating.
The Presidency Council’s education ministry issued the decision because it said some students had smuggled in portable devices and others had been able to get hold of the questions in advance.
The news came as the same ministry warned of multiple violations within the education committee of Qasr Ben Ghashir. Education officials toured the municipality on Tuesday and said they found serious shortcomings.
Daily reports on the rest of the exam must now now be sent by Qasr Ben Ghashir municipality to the ministry.
Earlier this week the Beida-based government said they had arrested a number of people for leaking secondary school examination questions.
The education ministry announced they had cancelled exams in physics and mechanics and would repeat tests in composition, literary texts and rhetoric.
Social media was full earlier this week full of posts claiming to be leaking exam questions. The Beida ministry said that despite the arrests, their investigations are unfinished.
