Tripoli and Tunis, 20 May 2017:
Video emerged today of apparently victorious fighters shooting up a row of corpses at the Brak Al-Shatti air base where 141 Libyan National Army (LNA) troops and civilians died in yesterday’s assault.
The footage, posted by the Al-Hadath Al-Libya TV station, was reportedly found on the phone of an alleged Benghazi Defence Brigades fighter captured by the LNA.
It is taken from inside a vehicle passing a line eight bodies, some wearing camouflage fatigues. There is the sound of a weapon being cocked and then two shots, one of which hits the ground beyond the corpses. The video clip then ends.
Earlier, it had shown some six fighters, one of them masked, with their weapons singing and shouting as they drove along. The presences of the line of dead men suggests that they arrived after the first attack which took place early in the morning.
