Benghazi, 17 April 2017:

A fireman died in a crash as he drove his fire truck to a blaze at Benghazi university allegedly started to cover up a murder. His vehicle overturned last night as it sped towards the blaze in the Fuwayhat district. Fellow fire fighters escaped the truck with only minor injuries.

Police say the fire in the temporary home of the Economics Faculty was set by a Chadian national in an attempt to cover up his murder of a fellow Chadian who worked at the university as a security guard.

The blaze destroyed the faculty’s cafeteria before being brought under control. Police have so far not named the dead fireman nor the murder victim and his alleged killer.
