London, 13 January 2017:

The e-Commerce and Communications Technologies Conference under the banner of ‘‘Reality and Future Horizons’’ will be held at the Child’s Theatre in Benghazi 15-16 January. A small exhibition of companies and institutes in the sector will be held on the side lines of the conference.

The event has a host of co-sponsors with the Central Bank of Libya and Bank of Credit and Development as the main sponsors.

Organizers say the main aims of the event are: to introduce e-commerce and its prerequisites and limitations; activating the positives of e-commerce and offering solutions to some of its negatives; exchanging experiences and experiments of e-commerce.

Organizers say that the event is further tangible evidence of the relative safety, security and stability that the city of Benghazi now enjoys in contrast to many other areas of Tripoli, including the beleaguered capital Tripoli. This security has acted as a catalyst for commerce to begin to flourish in Libya’s second largest city.
