Benghazi, 14 November 2016:
A father carried his son on his back after he had been freed by kidnappers in Derna. The man, Abdullah Awad Atawir had been tortured and was unable to walk.
Atawir, from Maturba is the local superintendent of financial services. He had gone to Derna to organise state sector salaries when he was grabbed last Tuesday.
Members of his family claim that he was seized by the Derna Mujahideen Shoura Council (DMSC) and had been tortured. They did not say why he had been grabbed.
Atawir’s father today carried him from the building where he had been held to a waiting car and took him home to Maturba.
