A Sudanese medical team arrived yesterday, Sunday, in Misrata to help treat the large number of fighters wounded in Sirte in the battle against the so-called Islamic State (IS).
Although the Misratan-led forces involved in the Bunyan Marsous operation to recapture Sirte have made major advances in the past week against IS, the number of casualties being taken remains extremely high. The same day the Sudanese doctors arrived, Misrata canal Hospital announced that anther nine soldiers have been killed in fighting during the day and a further 47 wounded.
