Tripoli, 3 June 2016;
A Misratan bomb disposal expert died today as he sought to defuse an IED left . . .[restrict]behind on the outskirts of Sirte by IS terrorists. Two members of his team were wounded in the blast and taken to Misrata Central hospital.
Pressure on Sirte has been kept up with further attacks on the IS-held Gardabya airbase to the south of the town. IS claimed that tank fire had destroyed three enemy vehicles. They also said that three IEDs had been driven at Misratan positions near the power station, though this claim may relate to an attack on Thursday.
An Egyptian, said to be an IS judge was arrested Zillah. Photographs showed the captured man appearing to defy his captors.
Overnight Misrata forces received reinforcements from Tripoli and Sabratha, though the number of newly fighters is unclear. [/restrict]
