Tunis, 30 March 2016:
Prime minister-designate Faiez Serraj together with most of the Presidency Council arrived in Tripoli this . . .[restrict]afternoon.
They sailed from Sfax this morning, allegedly on a Tunisian navy vessel, although this is being denied by the council who insist they arrived on the Libyan ship Al-Sadada
They disembarked at the Libyan navy base adjacent to Tripoli port where they were welcomed by navy and other officials. According to Fathi Ben Issa, Serraj’s media adviser, the Council may use the navy base at it operations centre until more suitable premises are found.
There are already reported to be celebrations in the city.
It is not known where the main figures in the Tripoli regime are – prime minister Khalifa Ghwell, Congress president Nuri Abu Sahmain and Grand Mufti Sadik Al-Ghariani. Ghwell had threatened to arrest the members of the Presidency Council if they dared arrive. [/restrict]
