Tripoli, 24 March 2016:
Sadeq Al-Ghariani, Libya’s grand mufti recognised by the Tripoli regime, has urged young people to . . .[restrict]ignore their parents and head off to fight Khalifa Hafter’s forces in Benghazi.
Expanding on a call he first made at the start of the month for all able-bodied men to head east to defeat Hafter, Ghariani took to his Tanasuh TV channel today to say that young people should not bother to check with their parents before they too joined the fray.
Speaking on the “Islam and Life” programme, Ghariani warned that if Hafter were victorious in Benghazi, he would then attack other Libyan cities. He continued that it was the duty of every Muslim to join the jihad against “the aggressor” and therefore the permission of parents was not necessary for young men. [/restrict]
