Tripoli, 20 January 2016:
One of the two women in the new 32-member ministry of the Government of National . . .[restrict]Accord has said that had no idea whatsoever that she was about to be selected.
Asma Al-Ousta, the proposed culture minister said she only discovered that she was due to join the government headed by Faiez Serraj when the list of ministers was announced early on Tuesday morning.
“No one told me I was in the running” the Wall Street Journal reported Ousta as saying, “ I just found my name on the list”. She added however that after she had overcome her surprise, she decided that she was prepared to accept the post.
It has not been possible to check with Serraj’s office as to how this oversight came about. [/restrict]
