The United States has commended the formation of the Government of National Accord as a . . .[restrict]significant step forward.
State Department spokesman John Kirby said that Washington was “committed to providing the unified government full political backing and technical, economic, security, and counterterrorism assistance as requested”.
Kirby said that the US considered the agreement on the composition of the GNA “ a significant step forward on the path towards Libya’s peace and stability”.
He urged all Libyans to support the new government so that the country’s critical humanitarian, economic and security challenges could be tackled. [/restrict]
