Tripoli, 2 November 2015:
The planning minister in the Tripoli-based administration of Khalifa Ghwell was seized today by gunmen.
Sources . . .[restrict]are claiming that Ahmed Al-Ghadar was kidnapped from his office in Triq Al-Siqqa by the Tripoli Revolutionaries’ Brigade, which is commanded by Haitham Tajouri.
It is being reported that Ghadar had been “arrested” over allegations of financial irregularities at his ministry. Sources say that he is being held by the gunmen in the Ain Zara district of the capital, possibly at the prison there.
There was no response this evening from Ghwell’s official spokesman.
Around 11pm tonight, heavy gunfire including tracer was seen in the area of Martyrs’ Square. It is not yet clear if this had any connection with Ghadar’s abduction. [/restrict]
