Tripoli, 8 October 2015:
UN envoy Bernardino Leon has announced that the prime . . .[restrict]minister of new unity government is to be Faiez Al-Serraj, a member of the House of Representative for Hay Andalus in Tripoli. He is said to be close to the former National Transitional Council interim premier, Mahmoud Jibril.
There will be three rather than two deputy prime ministers: Ahmed Maetig (who was briefly prime minister-elect last year), Musa Kuni (member of Libya’s Tuareg minority) and current Education Minister Fathi Majbri. The other two ministers who will make up what is now a six-man presidency council are Omar Aswad and Mohamed Ammar.
