Tripoli, 6 August 2015:
Afriqiyah Airways has restarted its service between Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport and the airbase at Tamanhint . . .[restrict]near Sebha. A flight left Mitiga this morning carrying, in addition to ordinary passengers, a number of the company’s top officials.
The service was inaugurated in June but then suspended after only one flight, it is said because of security concerns.
The current aim, according to Afriqiyah, is a weekly Thursday service.
The main airport at Sebha has been closed since January this year. It is deemed too risky to use because of its proximity to repeated clashes. [/restrict]
