The 20 delegates to the main political Dialogue process taking part in the Moroccan resort . . .[restrict]of Skhirat have been invited by Germany for talks in Berlin. They are due in the German capital on 10 June.
Confirming the invitation, the German embassy to Libya said that it was part of “supporting the peace process” bit did not state what the talks would be about. Details were still being worked out, the embassy added, and “dates may change”, depending on when the delegates go back to Skhirat for the next session. That is supposed happen on 7-8 June, and Abdulqader Al-Juwaili, from the Political Affairs Committee of the General National Congress in Tripoli, has said that the GNC delegation would arrive in Morocco by 7 June.
The presence of the HoR delgates has not been confirmed although it is thought that they too will arrive on time.
The meeting in Berlin will follow fast on the heels of the G7 summit hosted by Germany on 7-8 June at Schloss Elmau in Bavaria and, according to Juwaili, the meeting in Berlin will include talks with a number of western foreign ministers. The Germans, however, have not so far said who the Libyans will meet.
All the delegates are believed to have accepted the invitation and those who require them are said to be currently involved in visa applications. [/restrict]
