Benghazi, 23 April 2015:
A freelance camera man has been found murdered in Benghazi. The body of Muftah Khalifa Al-Qatrani was discovered in his office yesterday evening at 8:30 pm. He had been shot twice. It is not known if it was a criminal act or a political assassination.
Qatrani, 33, was also a political activist.
There was a wave of political assassinations in Benghazi in 2012 and 2013 but these stopped as the crisis worsened there. Nonetheless, there have been fears that as the military situation in the city improved there might be a return to low level political violence.
