Gharyan Municipality has been busy providing workshops for its employees and developing strategies to better . . .[restrict]serve the residents of the area.
Employees, particularly those who expressed an interest in crisis management and those who are decision makers, have attended a one-day workshop led by a crisis management specialist, Mohamed Shaybi.
Shaybi told the Libya Herald that Ghariyan hopes to establish an office for crisis management in the near future.
Meanwhile, the town was one of six Libyan municipalities chosen for a training workshop organised by the NGO Karteef which helps civic employees expand their skills Karteef is already providing the same training in Sebha, Zuwara, Sabratha, Tobruk and Beida.
Ghariyan Mayor Yousif Budeiri explained to this newspaper the committee had been formed after several meetings between the municipality, community partners, university experts looking at how to develop a strategy for the town
Dean of the University of Western Mountain Mohammed Goma confirmed that the university will support the advisory team by seconding specialists to help develop action plans.
