Tunis, 19 April 2015:
UNSMIL is looking to boost the contribution . . .[restrict]of women to the dialogue by seeking reactions from leading women’s groups and activists at a special conference in Tunis this week.
The two-day event, which starts on Tuesday, will bring together some 40 women from different parts of Libya. They will be briefed by female participants in the Skhirat talks in Morocco on the progress that has been made. Those taking part will be invited to give their views on what is being achieved.
The conference will also look at the wider issue of women’s role in sustaining any agreement that comes out of the Moroccan talks. This UNSMIL event is also being supported by the EU.
