One policemen was killed and five were injured after an explosive device was detonated at . . .[restrict]the Ghiran checkpoint in the western region of Tripoli this afternoon..
No one has claimed responsibility for the explosion, the news agency LANA reported.
The attack on the checkpoint comes only 3 days after a bomb exploded outside the police station in the central Tripoli district of Zawiet Al-Dahmani. That attack, which was claimed by IS, caused no deaths or injuries. There was damage to the police station and to cars. [/restrict]
