Benghazi, 28 February 2015:

A crowd of several hundred demonstrators in Benghazi’s Kish Square yesterday ignored a mortar attack and . . .[restrict]carried on with their protest in support of the Libyan Army and in denunciation of terrorism.

Two mortars landed in the square away from the main concentration of protestors. One or two people appeared to have minor injuries. However, instead of dispersing, the crowd continued to chant angrily.  They also protested the death of Tripoli civil rights activist Intisar Al-Hasairi.

Today IS posted a video made on a contested Benghazi street. After the usual harangue, the closing shots showed what it claimed was a Dignity soldier being gunned down. His white car, which had no registration plates, seemed to be passed by two different terrorist vehicles as he drove along a quiet street. Footage taken by a terrorist beside the gunman showed burst of fire into the white car, before the attackers drove on. Given that the bursts of fire were different, it may be that in succession, two terrorist gunmen were driven by their victim’s car. [/restrict]
