Benghazi, 20 December 2014:
Libya Airlines are to open a new office in Benghazi;s Hadaiq district tomorrow. At present the . . .[restrict]company’s main office (and officially its headquarters) are downtown but although the area is now relatively safe many city residents prefer to avoid it.
Earlier this month, Afriqiya Airways opened a new sales office in east Benghazi’s Sidi Khalifa district to enable passengers to reserve and pay for tickets without having to travel to Labraq airport, currently serving as the nearest operating airport to Benghazi.
Although Benghazi’s Benina aiport is now firmly in government hands, it is not expected to reopen for several months, partly because of the damage to it but also because of the continued potential threat from terrorists in the city. [/restrict]
