Tripoli, 18 November 2014:
The House of Representatives intends to meet in different parts of Libya, starting with Ras Lanuf, . . .[restrict]as a way of demonstrating that it is not confined to Tobruk.
The HoR rapporteur Salah Galama , a member for Ghat, today told the Libya Herald that the parliament will hold some sessions in the coastal oil town, home of Libya’s largest refinery.
“It has not been decided when”, he said. “That is still to be discussed.”
According to an HoR official, the objective is to show that the House is not wedded to Tobruk and that it can move around the country.
The newly-elected parliament began its work in the summer in Tobruk because of the violence in Benghazi, its designated home. However, members stressed that it would start to sit in Benghazi as soon as the city was secure. [/restrict]
