Tripoli, 18 November 2014:
Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni is being called before the . . .[restrict]House of Representatives to explain why he is seeking an emergency budget less than a month after parliament signed off on much-debated funding for his government.
HoR spokesman Faraj Buhashem said that members of the house could not understand why another financial allocation is needed so soon after they had voted through a LD 53.2 billion budget on 22 October. This sum had originally been proposed by former prime minister Al Zeidan in February but the General National Congress had failed to agree on it. One representative told the Libya Herald that he was mystified by the Prime Minister’s action.
