Tripoli, 18 September 2014:
A pall of thick black smoke rose from Gasr Ben Gashir this evening after a further airstrike against Libya Dawn by one or more unidentified warplanes. Targeted in this latest attack were Dawn forces based at the Al Menara camp.
It was unclear what damage was done. The blaze appeared to be burning fuel rather than ammunition. It is also unknown if any casualties were inflicted, either among the militiamen or civilians in the neighbourhood.
This is the second time that Gasr Ben Gashir has been targeted by mystery aircraft. It was first hit last month as fighting around nearby Tripoli International Airport saw Zintani forces withdraw to the west of the city.
