Tripoli, 26 August 2014:
The Deputy Mayor of Tajoura, Sadik Ali Al-Kahila, has claimed that the House of Representative’s (HoR) is biased . . .[restrict]in labelling Operation Dawn forces as terrorists.
However, Kahila who effectively heads Tajoura Muncipality following the resignation of Mayor Hussein Al-Zaroog over the weekend, said that it fit not mean rejecting the HoR as an institution. He stressed his own rejection of those voices that cast doubt on its legitimacy. It was, he said, elected by the ballet box. Moreover, any destructive military operations, under whatever name, that took place without the sanction of the state were unacceptable.
Seemingly trying to lead a middle path (there is support in Tajoura for Operation Libya Dawn), he denounced moves to try and disrupt the work of the HoR which, he said, could possibly lead to a coup.
Those who loved Libya had to relinquish personal goals and instead help build the state, he said. Voices of wisdom and reason had to be listened to in order to unite the country.
