By Hadi Fornaji.

Tripoli, 5 August 2014:

The Malaysian embassy in Tripoli has been closed temporarily and the two staff evacuated along with . . .[restrict]nine other Malay nationals.

The Malaysian foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman told the Star newspaper in Kuala Lumpur that the party, which included eight students and a businessman had been flown to Tunis from Misrata and was due to return to Malaysia.  He said that there were still 17 Malaysians in Libya, all of whom had been advised to leave as soon as possible.

However an official later confirmed that some Malaysians had refused to leave on the grounds that they had been in Libya a long time and knew the country well. [/restrict]
