Tripoli, 8 June 2014:
The final results for the elections for Central Tripoli’s municipal elections were announced today by . . .[restrict]the Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections .
There has been no change since the preliminary results were announced on 22 May.
The confirmed councillors are:
General List
- Almahdi Al-Harati (2,930 votes)
- Naser Al-Keriaw (1,243)
- Mohamed Banon (813)
- Abdurrauf Beitelmal (745)
- Ibrahim Aribi (686)
- Mahmud Elzeguzi (684)
- Ibrahim Al-Shibli: (667)
Women’s List
- Fatima Joma Baghi (4,275)
Mohamed Abu Janah was elected unopposed as the wounded revolutionary councillor.
The number of people voting was extremely low compared to the population of Central Tripoli.
Almahdi Al-harati is widely expected to now become Mayor of Tripoli. [/restrict]
