A scratch Libyan rugby team, the Tripoli . . .[restrict]Stars, took third place Sunday in its first ever international rugby tournament. The Tripoli team was taking part in the fast-paced Istanbul Rugby Sevens 2014 tournament in Turkey. After a close loss to Turkish team Kadikoy 22-21 in the semi-finals, Libya soundly beat Turkish team Ottomans 22-10 for third place overall. A total of 10 teams competed in the tournament.
The Tripoli Stars is made up of the best players from Tripoli’s four rugby teams. [/restrict]
