Four security officials, including a senior commanding officer, were murdered in shootings and another wounded today . . .[restrict]in Benghazi in three separate shootings, medical sources have said.

The Commanding Officer of the 204th Tank Brigade in Benghazi, Salah Mosbah Al-Shebani Al-Shaafi, was killed earlier in the day while driving his son to school, a member of staff and Benghazi Medical Centre (BMC) told the Libya Herald. He was 49 years old and lived in Majuri district. He had been shot in the stomach and chest.

This afternoon, two Saiqa Special Forces members were also shot while travelling in their car in Hay Al-Salam. The spokesman for Jalaa Hospital, where their bodies were received, identified the two men as Saifaddine Al-Hawari and Hamza Sati.  She told this newspaper that both had suffered multiple gun shot wounds.
