Tripoli, 23 May 2014:
Prime Minister-designate Ahmed Maetig has denied that he has finalised his list of ministers and . . .[restrict]told the Libya Herald that the list of 23 names that has been published on social media is bogus.
While saying that he did not want to make any formal statement, Maetig insisted that he had not given a list of names to the GNC to vote upon “because I have not taken a final decision about all the ministers yet. I have not given a list of names to anyone”.
The roll published on social media, of variously 21 or 23 names, claimed that Abdullah Al-Thinni would keep his portfolio at the Ministry of Defence along with Mohamed Sualim at the the Labour Ministry. That Thinni would have accepted the post triggered suspicions about the list.
Eyebrows were also raised because of the reputations some of the other individuals on the list.
