Tripoli, 21 May 2014:
Two Niger nationals and one Egyptian were killed and two other workers wounded last night . . .[restrict]when five rockets hit the capital’s Salaheddin area last night. Speaking by phone with Libya Herald, the outgoing head of the Tripoli Local Council, Sadat Elbadri said the rockets were fired from somewhere around the Airport Road.
Elbadri also said that the Air Defense Camp in Tajoura was entered by armed groups and a number of weapons confiscated. He could not say to where these forces owed their allegiances.
Elbadri plans to release a bulletin on last night’s events at 8 pm this evening.
Elsewhere, the High National Electoral Commission’s Tripoli office sustained some minor damage last night when armed clashes were taking place in the area near the office. A spokesperson from HNEC told this newspaper that no one was injured in the incident, though some materials were lost or damaged. [/restrict]
