Tripoli, 22 April 2014:

The National Dialogue Preparatory Commission (NDPC) has announced that it will take its Engagement and Participation Tour to eight extra Libyan towns during the next fortnight.

These additional towns include Ojilat, Jufra, Kufra and Al-Shati. The aim of the tour is to give all Libyans the chance to share his or her views about national identity, their vision for the future of country and what factors unite Libyans.

“Following the tremendous reception the tour has received in communities across the country and productive preliminary meetings with local councils in remaining cities, we have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming events,” Chairman of the NDPC Fadeel Lameen said. “Despite airport closures and other logistical challenges, our commitment to engaging with all Libyans has inspired the team to find solutions and ensure events are held everywhere.”

The Engagement and Participation events are run by NDPC staff, all of whom are volunteers, and are part of the first three-month phase of the National Dialogue. [/restrict]
