The Misrata University five-a-side football team has won the EuroValencia 2014 international football tournament, one in . . .[restrict]a number of events held during the Panathlon Student Games.
The squad of 11 players from Misrata University took on eight teams from the US, Lebanon, Morocco, Algeria, Germany, Serbia, Croatia, and Italy before taking the trophy on 28 April.
The Panathlon Student Games includes competitions in football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and table tennis and is held in Valenicia in April each year. The event aims to create a platform for improving the relations between students from different countries and cultures, forming the basis for future professional relationships. It was first held in 2008.
