Tripoli, 21 April 2014:
Zueitina oil export terminal is being brought back under state control, Justice Minister Salah Al-Marghani has said.
The cabinet . . .[restrict]had instructed the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to start procedures for taking over Zueitna in cooperation with the Defence Ministry, he said, speaking at a press conference last night in Benghazi.
A NOC official, however, yesterday told the Libya Herald that it was still waiting to receive authorisation from the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG). NOC was unable to lift force majeure or reopen the port until it received confirmation that Zueitina was under full control of the PFG, he said.
A spokesperson for the PFG said that it was supposed to take control of the oil export terminal either today or tomorrow.
Marghani confirmed that Hariga port had started export operations after procedures for reopening the port had been completed. [/restrict]
