Benghazi, 5 February 2014:
Six children were injured this morning, some seriously, when an bomb was thrown . . .[restrict]over the wall of a private primary school in Benghazi and exploded in the playground. They were rushed to Al-Jelaa hospital.
The playground at the Mahd Al-Marafa primary school in Benghazi’s Tabalino district was crowded at the time, 11.30 am; it was the morning break period.
There were chaotic scenes at the school as parents rushed to find out what had happened and take their children home, spokesman of Benghazi Joint Security Room Ibrahim,Al-Sharaa told the Libya Herald.
Bahlul Al-Said, the deputy interior minister, has said that a team is leaving straightway from Tripoli to Benghazi to investigate the attack, which has shocked the country
Asked if the Interior Ministry was going to now provide schools with security guards, she said that Benghazi people needed to take action themselves. “This is now happening to kids”, he said, referring on the level of insecurity in the city. [/restrict]
