Benghazi, 21 January 2014:
An army officer and a civilian were killed today in two separate incidents in Benghazi.
The body . . .[restrict]of army officer Moataz Rafa Al-Jara was found in the vicinity of Hawari cemetery. His family said he was there to attend the funeral of two soldiers killed in Benghazi yesterday. Jarah had been shot twice in the heart.
In a separate incident, a 45 year-old engineer, Mohammed Al-Faraj Al-Shaikhi was shot multiple times in Benghazi’s Gari Younis district. He was pronounced dead on arrival this afternoon at Benghazi Central Hospital.
Spokesman for Benghazi Joint Security Room (BJSR), Ibrahim Al-Shara, told the Libya Herald that Shaikhi had no connection with either the police or the military.
Investigations into the killings have been launched. [/restrict]
