Tripoli, 26 January 2014:
The Libyan Red Crescent today sent a convoy carrying medical supplies to Zahra Hospital, after . . .[restrict]the recent clashes in Warshefana left the hospital urgently in need of medicines and equipment.
The aid was organised by the Red Crescent, in association with international NGO Doctors Without Borders, and a team of volunteers.
The Red Crescent said the supplies were welcomed by the hospital’s medical staff. Members of the Red Crescent who delivered the aid were briefed on the current working conditions for doctors and volunteers at the hospital, and the condition of injured patients, most of whom were reported to be in a stable condition.
