Tripoli, 15 January 2014:
The Fezzan 4×4 rally scheduled for this month has been postponed due to security concerns following . . .[restrict]tribal clashes in Sebha.
The week-long rally was to start on 15 January but the unstable local situation has forced the organisers to delay the event.
“We have postponed the event until further notice because of the fighting in Sebha,” head of the media office for the Fezzan Rally, Mohammed Abdallah Almagreby, told Libya Herald.
“If the security situation improves, we will try to begin on 20 January,” he said. Otherwise, he added, the event would have to wait until the situation in the region had stabilised. [/restrict]
