The Prime Minister made a stopover in Benghazi this evening on his return from . . .[restrict]Jordan to check on the security situation in the city and hold talks with Colonel Abdullah Saiti of Benghazi Joint Security Room and Colonel Wanis Bukhamada, commander of the Special Forces. It is his third visit to Benghazi in three weeks.
Zeidan’s previous two visits, on 11 and 25 November, reportedly drew accusations that he had come and gone without offering any concrete help to the those tying to ensure law and order in the city.
However, four days ago, Zeidan insisted that the government was not neglecting the city and that work was underway to boost safety and security there. [/restrict]
