A Tunisair official was abducted by masked gunmen for two hours in Sebha on Friday, an . . .[restrict]airline spokesman has confirmed. A Sebha local council official had earlier denied reports of the kidnapping.
Tunisair’s Jalel Ourabi told the Libya Herald that the employee, the station chief, was abducted by unknown gunmen, while leaving Sebha International Airport. He was released two hours later. Ourabi gave no further explanation of the circumstances surrounding the seizure.
The Tunisian Embassy in Tripoli has told this newspaper that it will issue a statement on the abduction later today.
Tunisair has three flights a week between Sebha and Tunis. [/restrict]
