Despite a hopeful prognosis, after a four-hour operation last night to save his leg, the . . .[restrict]military intelligence victim of a Benghazi car-bombing died early today.
Col Kamal Bazaza’s Toyota Camry blew up as he drove along a crowded Jamal Abdul Nasr street yesterday morning. He was dragged from the wreckage and rushed to Jelaa hospital, where surgeons said that after the surgery that they thought they had saved his leg and he had a 70 percent chance of recovery.
Despite the blast happening in a busy street, there are no reports of other injuries. It is understood that Bazaza was an investigator leading the search for a number of terrorist suspects. [/restrict]
