Derna, 11 December 2013:
A colonel in working with customs at Derna port was shot dead last night outside . . .[restrict]his home in the east of the town. Colonel Abdulmonen Al-Delal, 43, was killed in yet another of the town’s drive-by shootings carried out by unknown assailants.
Married with four sons and a daughter, he had played a significant role during the revolution, helping take relief supplies by boat from Derna to Misrata.
This morning the town was shook by an explosion outside the Misrata Martyrs School. Reports that it was being used as a base for the local committee organising elections to the 60-member Committee to draw up the new constitution have not been confirmed.
No one was hurt. [/restrict]
